Maintain Verification Skill

Paste this into a coding agent after a verification skill exists. It checks the skill's steps against the app and fixes what has drifted

Snippet

Copy and paste this prompt into a coding agent inside your project after a verification skill exists. It keeps the skill accurate as the app changes:

text
Audit my project's verification skill and its feature map against the app as it is today. Fix the drift in the skill, and report what you could not prove.

Work in this order:
1. Index check: read the feature map README. Fix missing, extra, duplicate, or dead entries.
2. Source check: for each feature, read the code that implements it. Find every place where the written steps, labels, routes, or expected results no longer match the code. Cite the file and line for each one.
3. Live check: launch the app the way the skill's Launch section says. Run the doctor check before the first drive, and again after any failure. Exercise every feature at least once, and record the result of each step.
4. Triage: fix outdated steps in the skill. Fix broken helper scripts. Report real product bugs to me. Do not change product code.
5. Cleanup: stop only the processes you started. Keep the evidence.

Then give me one result, and say which one it is:
- clean: nothing needed to change
- changed: each fix, with the evidence for it
- blocked: exactly what stopped the check

How to Use

  1. Copy the prompt in the box above.
  2. Open your coding agent in the root folder of your project. The verification skill must already exist.
  3. Paste the prompt and send it.
  4. Read the result. Clean means nothing needed to change. Changed lists each fix. Blocked explains what stopped the check.

How It Works

  • Source and live checks - Each feature is checked against the code and against the running app.
  • Narrow edits - Only the verification skill changes. Product code is left alone.
  • Honest results - You get clean, changed, or blocked, with the reason for each.
  • Pairs with the generator - Use it after the verification skill from the Create Verification Skill snippet exists.
